About The Food Pantry

The Food Pantry at Cypress Assistance Ministries provides supplemental food assistance to neighbors in need, helping to reduce grocery costs and ease financial burdens for struggling families. We believe no one in our community should go hungry, and our programs are designed to provide both immediate relief and long-term support.

Current Food Pantry Needs

Non-Perishable Foods

Canned meats (tuna, chicken, Spam, Vienna sausages)

Canned chili, beef stew, ravioli, pasta meals

Canned beans (black, pinto, kidney, refried)

Canned vegetables (corn, green beans, mixed veggies, peas)

Canned fruit (in juice, not heavy syrup if possible)

Rice (1–2 lb. bags preferred)

Special Programs At The Food Pantry

Beyond everyday food assistance, CAM’s Food Pantry offers specialized programs for seniors, homebound neighbors, and those facing unique challenges. From monthly senior distributions to fresh market opportunities and compassion bags for the homeless, each program is designed to meet people where they are with hope and support.

  • Community Garden

    The Messiah Lutheran Community Garden grows more than produce — it grows hope. Through faith, service, and community partnerships, volunteers cultivate fresh vegetables that go directly to CAM’s Food Pantry, nourishing local families and teaching the value of giving back.

  • Senior and Homebound Program (SHoP)

    This program delivers groceries monthly to qualifying seniors (65+) and those who are homebound due to disability or mobility restrictions.

  • Senior Box Program

    In partnership with the USDA and Texas Department of Agriculture, CAM distributes the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) “Senior Box” to income-eligible seniors (60+

  • Food for Change Fresh Market

    In partnership with the Houston Food Bank, CAM is proud to be a Fresh Market site for the Food for Change program. This initiative uses food as a catalyst for change, helping individuals reach personal and financial goals.

  • Client Choice Food Pantry

    Neighbors shop one-on-one with a volunteer and choose from a selection of fresh produce, dairy, deli meats, frozen entrées, non-perishable items, household goods, and personal care items.
